ghosts? Ghosts are the apparitions of the dead, the spirit or soul of a person who has remained on Earth after death. Some say ghosts are a surviving emotional memory of someone who has died traumatically and tragically but is unaware he/she is dead. These apparitions can return to the place they died or places they inhabited during life. .............................................................................. Do ghosts exist? Many people all over the world claim to have seen ghosts. Ghosts are deep seated in many cultures and have been reported for centuries. Whether ghosts exist in reality is subjective, as no concrete proof has ever been produced. .............................................................................. What kinds of ghosts are there? There are several different types of ghosts: Ectoplasm During séances in the Victorian age, Ectoplasm was often seen emanating from spirit mediums. This has been described as a mist or fog. Orbs or Ghost Lights Generally appearing in many spirit photographs, these are mysterious lights, orbs or dabs of light. Shadow ghosts Ghosts that appear as a dark shadow. Apparitions Sometimes solid or can be transparent human form, usually dressed in clothing of the period from which they came. Poltergeist A fast moving human spirit that usually makes its presence with noises, knockings, and quick manifestations of psychic energy. Poltergeists can have a duration of days, months, or years. They can also appear for minutes and then they are gone. Crisis Apparition A ghost that appears to loved ones to warn them of coming dangers. Residual Haunting's A recording of an event from a past time played back as if real and in the present day. These ghosts cannot interact or change their behaviour.
